View Video Tribute Samuel W. Metz, age 52, of Kendallville, Indiana, died at 4:49 p.m., Friday, July 8, 2005, in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was a patient. He was a 1971 graduate of Edgerton High School and received his bachelors degree from Purdue University in 1989. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Kendallville, Indiana, and was Manager of Software Development for Jayco in Middlebury, Indiana. Samuel W. Metz was born April 2, 1953, in Auburn, Indiana, the son of Bobby D. and Florabelle (Dixon) Metz. He married Rachael A. Sholl on July 24, 1971, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Metz is survived by a daughter, Amy (Pete) Jimenez, of Albion, Indiana, a son, Benjamin (Tammi) Metz, of Avilla, Indiana, four grandchildren, Kaitlin and Elliott Jimenez and Logan and Audrey Metz. He is also survived by his father, Bobby D. (Marlene) Metz, of Bryan, Ohio, and a sister, Linda (Ronald) Stayer, of Auburn, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his mother, Florabelle Metz. Services for Samuel W. Metz will be Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. (Ohio time) in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be Monday, July 11, 2005, from 3-8 p.m. (Ohio time) in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio with recitation of the rosary at 8:30 p.m. Monday. Memorials in the name of Samuel W. Metz may be given to the American Heart Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
