Paul L. Casebere , 89, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 3:10 a.m. on Monday, February 14, 2005, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Casebere worked for Elmer Brown at the Willis-Knight Overland Dealership in Edgerton from 1928-1932. He was a 1934 graduate of Edgerton High School and a World War II veteran of the United States Navy. In 1934 he became co-owner of Casebere Motor Sales with his brother, Carolus, which they operated until his retirement in October 1986. Mr. Casebere was a longtime active member of the Edgerton Chamber of Commerce, the Edgerton Development Corporation and the Edgerton Board of Public Affairs and had served on the Edgerton Fire Department in the early 1940s. He was an avid horseman and was a member of the Central States Walking Horse Association. He was a charter member and an active volunteer with the Auburn Cord Duesenburg Museum in Auburn, Indiana, and was also a charter member of the Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, Michigan. He was also a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, where he had served on the parish council, the Hicksville Bank Advisory Board and the Empire Bankshares Board. In 1981, he and his brother, Carolus, were named Citizens of the Year in Edgerton. Paul Louis Casebere was born February 15, 1915, in Hebron, Indiana, the son of J. Stanley and Marguerite (Gebhard) Casebere. He married Mary M. Pahl on September 27, 1934, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Paula (Michael) Dockery, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Mary Jane (Allen) Hubbell, of Hicksville, Ohio, seven grandchildren and one sister, Harriet Siebenaler, of Edgerton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, Carolus, in 1997. Services for Paul L. Casebere will be Thursday, February 17, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, Ohio, with Father Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Edgerton. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, and one hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday, February 17. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Memorials in the name of Paul L. Casebere may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Community Hospitals and Wellness Center - Hospice Care.
