Welma J. Miller, 86, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 7:58 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in Defiance Inpatient Hospice after an extended illness. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgerton, Ohio, where she served on the Altar Committee and was a Sunday School teacher and a Vacation Bible School teacher. A 1941 graduate of Hicksville High School, Hicksville, Ohio, she formerly worked at Magnavox in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Welma J. Miller was born on January 1, 1923, in Hicksville, Ohio, the daughter of Walter E. and Alice A. (Booth) Smith. She married Eugene Miller on July 19, 1950, in Edgerton, Ohio, and he survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Marti (George) Roehrs, of Edgerton, two grandsons, Michael Meyer, of Bryan, Ohio, and Eugene (Heather) Meyer, of Butler, Indiana, three great-grandchildren, Chawn Calloway, Emma Gene Meyer, and Braylon Meyer, and one niece, Debbie Francies, of Asheville, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by two sisters, her twin, Thelma Brown, and Lois Keel. Services for Welma J. Miller will be held on Monday, July 27, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Chris Sigmon officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Sunday, July 26, 2009. Memorials in the name of Welma J. Miller may be given to Defiance Inpatient Hospice or Zion Evangelical Church.
