View Video Tribute Joanie Lee Burke, age 19, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, February 9, 2005, shortly after admittance to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Williams County. Joanie was a 2004 graduate of Edgerton High School and was enrolled in the nursing program at Northwest State Community College, where she was a Presidential Scholar and on the Dean’s List. While attending high school, she was a member of the Band and Flag Corp, FEA, FCCLA, in which she received the Power of One Award in 2003 and was recognized at the state level, the Spanish Club and the National Honor Society . She was a Silver Award winner in 2000 with the Girl Scouts. She was a cheerleader all four years of her high school career in both football and basketball. She received the Bulldog Award in both and was the cheerleading MVP in football in 2004 and was captain of the basketball cheerleaders in the 2000-2001 and 2003-2004 basketball seasons. She participated in cheerleading competitions from 2001-2004 and was awarded the distinction of All American Cheerleader in 2003, which allowed her to participate in the Capital Bowl half-time show in 2003. Joanie also attended the Edgerton Church of Christ and was employed at Oren Elliott Products in Edgerton. Joanie Lee Burke was born August 1, 1985, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Paul V. and Janet S. (Guyton) Burke. She is survived by her parents, Janet and Bill Reynolds, of Edgerton, Ohio, Paul and Debora Burke, of Napoleon, Ohio, five brothers, Matthew (Stephanie) Burke, Cody Reynolds and William Reynolds, all of Edgerton, Ohio, Rocky Reynolds of, Blakeslee, Ohio, and Blake Hall, of Napoleon, Ohio, two sisters, Angela Burke, of Edgerton and Rindy Reynolds, of Blakeslee, Ohio. She is also survived by her grandparents, Russell Krill of Edgerton, Ohio, Paul D. and Rose A. Burke, of Vero Beach, Florida, Lowell and Jane Hoover, of Napoleon, Ohio, and her soulmate, Andrew Stotz, of Edgerton, Ohio, nieces and nephews, Hunter Burke, Isaiah Geiselman and Holly Reynolds. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Jim and Jean Guyton.. Services for Joanie Lee Burke will be Sunday, February 13, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. in the Edgerton Church of Christ with D.V. Dillinger and Fred Lab officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, from 2-9 p.m. on Saturday, February 12.
