Earl C. Sutter, Jr., age 55, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:20 A.M. on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, after succumbing to Legionnaire’s Disease, which he had contracted and battled since December. Mr. Sutter was a 1972 graduate of Tinora High School and Four County Joint Vocational School. He attended Northwest State Community College, where he was on the dean’s list and a member of Phi Theta Kappa. He was employed as a tooling engineer with KAMCO Industries, Inc. in West Unity, Ohio. His memberships included First Presbyterian Church in Bryan, where he served as an elder and formerly as a deacon. A beloved father and husband, he was an avid reader and fisherman and enjoyed watching sports and traveling. Earl C. Sutter, Jr. was born on April 20, 1954, in Warren, Ohio, the son of Earl C. and Charlotte I. (Stoner) Sutter, Sr. He married Kerry A. Ames on October 16, 1982, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are two sons, Nathan Sutter, of Muncie, Indiana, and Matthew Sutter, of Bryan, two sisters, Frances (John) Ague, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Dorothy Doub, of South Whitley, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charles and David Sutter, and one sister, Margaret Sheele. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Friday, January 8, 2010. Services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 1:30 P.M. in the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan with Pastor Barry Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Earl C. Sutter, Jr. may be given to First Presbyterian Church.
