Eleanor J. Snyder, 93 years, of Bryan, Ohio, and a 60-year resident of Columbus, Ohio, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2006, in the home of her daughter in Bryan. Eleanor was a clerk at Moby’s Department Store Bakery Department in Columbus for many years. She had also worked for Pettifour Bakery in Columbus. She was a member of the Cardington, Ohio, United Methodist Church. Eleanor J. Snyder was born on April 13, 1913, in Shelby, Ohio, the daughter of Clifford L. and Nellie (Sparks) Smiley. She married Roy A. Robinson in 1931 and after that marriage ended, she married Kenneth M. Snyder in 1935 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia A. Fritch, of Bryan; two granddaughters, Dr. Linda L. (Claude) Herman, of Wilmett, Illinois, and Diana Terrell, of Columbus, Ohio; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack Smiley; three sisters, Geneva Miley, Eilene Meckley and Mildred Fowble. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death by two grandsons, Frank E. Funk, Jr., and Clayton D. Funk; a sister, Virginia Hickman, and two brothers, Robert and Clifford Smiley. There will be no visitation and grave side funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006, in Glendale Union Cemetery, Cardington, Ohio, with Rev. John Jackson officiating. Memorials in the name of Eleanor J. Snyder may be given to Hospice-the Caring Way of Williams and Fulton Counties. Arrangements by Krill Funeral Service, Bryan, Ohio.
