Harold L. "Pete" Mills

Harold L. "Pete" Mills, Sr., age 71, of Edon, Ohio, died at 3:35 P.M. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient, following an extended illness. Mr. Mills was employed as a machinist at Martin Sprocket & Gear, Montpelier, Ohio, for over twenty-five years. Most recently, he worked at Montpelier Auto Auction. He was an avid grandfather, fisherman, golfer and NASCAR fan. He had served as District Chief of EMS Squad #48, Edon, was a 25-year member of the Edon Fire Department, and was formerly a deputy sheriff of Williams County. He attended the Edon United Methodist Church. Harold L. "Pete" Mills, Sr. was born on November 16, 1938, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Harmon Harvey and Maude L. (Gaby) Mills. He married Bonnie B. Burlew on June 18, 1961, in Edon, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Pete (Shari) Mills, Jr., and Jerry (Carla) Mills, both of Edgerton, Ohio, Jeff (Nina) Mills, of Edon, and Kristy (Nick) Divjak, of Nettle Lake, Ohio, eleven grandchildren, Brett & Michelle Mills, Jerry Mills, Tamara, Tiara & Tehya Mills, Alissa Thompson, Nick III, Danielle, Jacob and Katie Divjak, one brother, John Mills, of Lagrange, Indiana, one sister, Sharon Mills, of Montpelier, one stepbrother, Kenny (Ruth) Lyons, of Edon, and one stepsister, Carolyn (Jim) Roesner, of Pioneer, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Michelle Renee Mills, one sister, Donna Hayes, and one stepbrother, Roger Lyons. Visitation for Harold L. "Pete" Mills will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010, from 1:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio. Services will follow at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will be in the Edon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Williams County EMS or Florence Township Fire Department.
