Raymond K. Meyer

Raymond K. “Rick” Meyer, M.D., age 56, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 12:30 P.M. on Thursday, December 17, 2009, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, from complications of Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Meyer was a graduate of Celina High School. He attended Case Western Reserve University, where he received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He then attended Case Western Reserve Medical School, graduating in 1979. He was a family practice physician, known for his trademark bow-tie, with the Bryan Medical Group from 1982 until his retirement in February of this year. He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bryan and served on the board of the Sanctuary of Williams County. He was also an active physician with Community Hospital and Wellness Centers in Bryan. Raymond K. “Rick” Meyer was born on February 1, 1953, in Celina, Ohio, the son of Raymond Kenneth and Mildred L. (Schindler) Meyer. He married Diane K. Conrad on May 27, 1978, in Cleveland, Ohio, and she survives. Dr. Meyer is also survived by two sons, Jacob Conrad (Akanksha) Meyer, of Winston Salem, North Carolina, and Caleb Meyer Conrad, at The Ohio State University, one sister, Annita Meyer (Larry Woods), of Columbus, Ohio, and a brother, DeVon L. (Ellen) Meyer, of Eaton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service celebrating the life of Rick Meyer will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. in the Bryan First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Barry Sweet officiating. A reception will follow in the church commons. In lieu of flowers, personal notes and e-mails would be appreciated. Memorials in the name of Raymond K. “Rick” Meyer are requested to The Sanctuary of Williams County, CHWC-Share Foundation, Bryan Area Foundation or Outreach of Williams County.
