Lucy P. Loper, age 93, a resident of Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, and formerly of Dover, Delaware, died on Saturday, March 11, 2006, at 11:18 a.m. in Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, where she was a patient. She was a 1934 graduate of Smyrna, Delaware, High School. Mrs. Loper owned and managed Wendover Apartrments in Dover, Delaware, with her husband, Franklin N. Loper, during their fifty-six year marriage and also owned and operated F.N. Loper Confectionaries Distributors for many years. Lucy P. Loper was born on August 7, 1912, in Smyrna, Delaware, the daughter of Brady A. and Alice (Shorts) Dickerson. She married Franklin N. Loper, Sr. in 1937 and he preceded in death on May 3, 1993. Mrs. Loper is survived by one son, Franklin N. Loper, Jr., of Dover, Delaware, a daughter, P. Levon (Charles) Loper-Tomecek, of Edgerton, Ohio, a grandson, Stephen Loper, of Dover, Delaware, a granddaughter, Joy Loper, of Silver City, New Mexico, and two great-grandsons, Max and Christopher Loper, of Dover, Delaware. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings. There will be no local service with private interment in Lake Side Cemetery in Dover, Delaware.
