DeWayne C. Davis

DeWayne C. Davis, age 76, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 4:45 A.M. on Sunday, March 14, 2010, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Davis attended Edgerton High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by Bard Manufacturing, retiring as a shipping foreman in 1996 with thirty-four years of service and had also owned and operated Davis Go-Kart Sales in Bryan since 1995. He was a member of the Butler American Legion Post #202, was an avid NASCAR and Go-Karting fan and relished the art of making the deal for his numerous auto purchases throughout the years. DeWayne C. Davis was born on January 15, 1934, near Bryan, Ohio, the son of Rudolph T. “R.T.” and Rose T. (Walsh) Davis. He married Sharon A. Miller on February 27, 1954, in Edgerton, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are a daughter, DeAnna (Mark) Chapman, of Perrysburg, Ohio, a son, Todd M. (Amanda) Davis, of Bryan, three grandchildren, Kelsey (Paul) Bock, of Clarksville, Tennessee, Timothy Davis, of Detroit, Michigan, and Laurel Davis, of Bryan, three sisters, Kathleen Goebel and Imogene Stark, both of Edgerton, and Audrey Davis, of Bryan, and a brother, Marvin Davis, also of Bryan. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Denver and Thomas Davis. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Steven Stark officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites conducted by Butler American Legion Post #202. Memorials may be given to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice & Home Health.
