Richard F. Ebbert, age 73, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 12:18 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2009, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, where he was a patient. Mr. Ebbert was a 1954 graduate of Rocky Grove High School in Franklin, Pennsylvania, and attended Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania. He served in the United States Army from 1957-1960 with the 7th Army Support Command. He was a purchasing manager with Fleetwood Industries, retiring with twenty years of service. Mr. Ebbert was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, Ohio, where he served on the church council, was active in the choir and worked with the youth group. He enjoyed life with his family and was an avid hunter and nature lover. Richard F. Ebbert was born on July 11, 1934, in Reno, Pennsylvania, the son of Ivan Sinclair and Twila Mae (Detar) Ebbert. He married JoAnn Irene Cousins on June 3, 1961, in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, and she survives. Richard is also survived by a daughter, Amy J. Roan, of Van Wert, Ohio, one son, R. Scott (Ann) Ebbert, of Swanton, Ohio, and two grandchildren, Elizabeth and David Roan. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Reeva Mae Weaver. Services for Richard F. Ebbert will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan, Ohio, with Reverend Mary Beth Smith-Webb officiating. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009, and one hour prior to the service on Sunday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Richard F. Ebbert may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, the American Lung Association or to Assistance Dogs of America.
