Shirley J. (Kochert) McLaughlin

Shirley J. (Kochert) McLaughlin, age 68, formerly of the Fort Wayne, Indiana, area, died on February 23, 2010, in Omaha, Nebraska, after an extended illness. She was a 1959 graduate of Riverdale High School and had worked in retail and in group homes prior to moving to Nebraska to be with family. Shirley McLaughlin was born on October 27, 1941, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of John F. and Betty C. (Folk) Kochert. She is survived by her mother, Betty Kochert, of Fort Wayne, her children, Theresa Mechura, Christopher McLaughlin, of Fort Wayne, Rebecca Kpokoudjo, and Katrina Cifuno, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two brothers, John W. Kochert, of Fort Wayne, and Tim B. Kochert. She was preceded in death by her father, a son, Mike, and a granddaughter. A memorial service for Shirley J. (Kochert) McLaughlin will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at 1:30 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Gary Rowland officiating. Interment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Shirley J. (Kochert) McLaughlin may be give to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
