Gerald L. Shaffer

Gerald L. " Jerry" Shaffer, age 66, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:21 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2006 at the Dilworth Center in Montpelier, Ohio, after an illness of two years. Mr. Shaffer was employed at LaChoy Foods in Archbold as a meat handler retiring in 1999 with over twenty years of service. Gerald L. "Jerry" Shaffer was born in Williams County on July 20, 1939 the son of William and Lena (Repp) Shaffer. He is survived by his companion of more than thirty years, Julia Joan Painter, one son, Randy Shaffer, of Mansfield, Ohio, step-children, Butch Raub, of Cecil, Ohio, Evelyn Hager, of Lakeland, Florida, his grandchildren, five brothers, Loren (Joyce) Shaffer, of Stryker, Ohio, Terry Dean Shaffer, Marlin Shaffer and John (Bunnie) Shaffer, all of Bryan, Ohio, Paul (Kathy) Shaffer, of Ashland, Kentucky and one sister, Vickie Shaffer, of Bryan, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant sister, Glenna and one step-son, Tom Raub. Services for Gerald L. "Jerry" Shaffer, will be Saturday, May 6, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio, with pastor Michael Kelly officiating. Interment will be in the Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2006. Memorials in the name of Gerald L. "Jerry" Shaffer may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
