View Video Tribute Anthony W. “Pete” Paxton, age 60, of Bryan, Ohio, died Sunday, February 19, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona, where he was a patient for several days. Mr. Paxton had been employed at Bohn Aluminum in Butler, Indiana, for ten years prior to his retirement in 2003. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America (GPPA), and also was an avid hunter, fisherman, artist and woodworker. Anthony W. “Pete” Paxton was born February 15, 1946, in Bryan, Ohio, the son of Leland Lavon and Georgia Lenora (Woerst) Paxton. Mr. Paxton is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Terry) Scalf, of Bryan, Ohio, Angela (Steve) Funk, of Toledo, Ohio, one son, Tim (and fiancee, Heather Gamble) Paxton, of Edgerton, Ohio, ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Jerald Lee Smith, in California and Johnny Keith Stewart, of Sylvania, Ohio, and one sister. He was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Lavon “Joe” Paxton, Jr., and his parents. Services for Anthony W. “Pete” Paxton will be Saturday, February 25, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio, with Reverend Ronald McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan Veteran of Foreign Wars Post # 2484. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 24. Memorials in the name of Anthony W. “Pete” Paxton may be given to the Veterans Administration Medical Center - Hospice Care in Prescott, Arizona.
