Inez L. Smith

View Video Tribute Inez L. Smith, 92 years, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Harborside Healthcare of Northwest Ohio, where she had been a resident. Mrs. Smith was employed by Spangler Candy Company for 25 years. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Inez was also active in the Wesley United Methodist Women’s Circle. Inez L. Smith was born on December 9, 1913, in Melbern, Ohio, the daughter of Edward and Effie Humbarger. She married Ivan L. Smith in 1935, and he preceded her in death on September 22, 1984. Surviving are her daughters, Nancy (Marvin) Merillat, of Bryan, and Linda Rife, of Grove City, Ohio; one son, Michael (Cathy) Smith, of Phoenix, Arizona; seven grandchildren, Curt (Jackie) Winzeler, of Springboro, Ohio, Melissa (Ken) Brook, of West Unity, Ohio, Sarah (Ryan) Spengler, of Bryan, Amy Rife and Karen (David) Weller, both of Hilliard, Ohio, Wesley and Cody Smith, both of Phoenix, Arizona; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Funeral services for Inez L. Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Pastor Dwight Bowers officiating. Interment will follow in Fountain Grove Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Smith will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of services at 2:00 p.m. Memorials in the name of Inez L. Smith may be given to Wesley United Methodist Church or a charity of the donor’s choice.
