Annie Elizabeth Manning, age 88, of Edon, Ohio, died at 3:15 A.M. on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, in her home surrounded by her family. Mrs. Manning was a homemaker and an avid quilter and enjoyed canning, making apple butter and gardening. Annie Elizabeth Manning was born on April 21, 1921, in McComas, West Virginia, the daughter of William Henry and Mary Jane (Spencer) Purdy. She married Charlie H. Manning on January 20, 1944, in Princeton, West Virginia, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Manning is survived by her children, Jimmy (Joyce) Purdy, Sr., of Auburn, Indiana, Terry (Juanita) Manning, David (Emma) Manning, and Brenda (Dick) Trausch, all of Edon, Ohio, Jalyne (Patrick) McCann, of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Vicki Mumaw, of Montpelier, Ohio, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, EllaMae Manning, of Gold Bond, Virginia, and Pearl Purdy, of Princeton, West Virginia. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband were three brothers, two sisters and one great-great-grandchild, Colin Joe Burkhard. Visitation for Annie Elizabeth Manning will be on Friday, January 29, 2010, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio. Services will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, January 30, 2010, in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, with Pastor Kevin Boulis and Pastor Paul Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery. Memorials in the name of Annie Elizabeth Manning may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
