Merle J. Imm, age 84, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 1:40 p.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009, at Dream Haven in Edgerton, where he was a resident. Mr. Imm was co-owner with his brother, Ray, of the former Imm Tractor Sales, a dealership for Massy-Harris, and later White, farm machinery, from 1952-1986. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received in Italy. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, where he was formerly active in the choir and formerly served on the Parish Council. He was also a charter member of the St. Mary School Endowment Committee. His memberships also included John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion in Edgerton and formerly Bryan Moose Lodge #1064. Additionally, he served as treasurer of the Full Gospel Businessmen's Fellowship. Merle J. Imm was born on June 24, 1925, in Edgerton, the son of Joseph and Flavia (Walley) Imm. He married Lila Jeanne Kaiser on November 20, 1948, in Edgerton, and she preceded him in death in 1979. He then married Maxine (Wise) Harter on August 5, 1982, in Edgerton, and she survives. Mr. Imm is also survived by two sons, Mark (Barbara) Imm and Neal (Sandy Wood) Imm, both of Edgerton, and one daughter, Sandy (Andy) Sholl, of Hicksville, Ohio; four grandsons, Alan, Austin, Doug and Mike Imm; one great-grandchild; three stepdaughters, Kathy (Bruce) Maxwell, of Harrison, Ohio, Melanie (Pete) Kaiser and Christine (Mark) Elders, both of Edgerton; five stepgrandchildren and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Services for Merle J. Imm will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Father Stephen Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemtery, Edgerton, with grave side military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, on Monday, November 16, 2009. Memorials in the name of Merle J. Imm may be given to the Edgerton Area Food Bank.
