View Video Tribute Arthur J. Crites, age 86, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died on Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at Laurels of Defiance, where he had been a resident for the past week. Arthur was a farmer his entire life. He also supported his family by working as a machinist for the former Precision Products, The Aro Corporation, and Challenge Cook Brothers. He was a member of Union Chapel Church of God, Bryan, and the Defiance County Fish and Game Club. Arthur J. Crites was born on May 23, 1919, in Defiance County, Ohio, the son of Charles and Izona (Peterson) Crites. He married Donna M. Davis on June 1, 1940, in Ney, Ohio, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Crites is survived by two sons, Ray J. (Joyce) Crites, of Ney, Ohio, and Gene A. Crites, of Bryan, Ohio; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Crites, of Ney, Marvin (Ruby) Crites, of Bryan and Lowell (Mary Jane) Crites, of Ney. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Bernard, and one brother, Olin Crites. Funeral services for Arthur J. Crites will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006, in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Dennis Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Evansport Cemetery, Evansport, Ohio. Visitation for Mr. Crites will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2006, in the funeral home. Memorials in the name of Arthur J. Crites may be given to Union Chapel Church of God.
