William L. “Bill” Burlew, age 68, of Edon, Ohio, died at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 18, 2010, in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Burlew was employed by Edgerton Manufacturing for twenty-four years and then by Simpson Industries (Metaldyne) in Edon for twenty years, retiring in 2005. He was a former member of the Hicksville Eagles. William L. “Bill” Burlew was born on September 30, 1941, in Pioneer, Ohio, the son of Lyle and Frieda (Reas) Burlew. He married Donna L. Burcaw on May 19, 1962, in Angola, Indiana, and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Terry (Penny) Burlew, of Angola, Indiana, Theresa (and fiancee, Clark Anderson) Cline, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, David Burlew, of Angola, Dawn Burlew, of Kendallville, Indiana, and Pamela Burlew, of Edon, nine grandchildren and his mother, Frieda Burlew, of Edon, Ohio. He is also survived by a brother, Robert (Mary) Burlew, of Pleasant Lake, Indiana, five sisters, Bonnie (Pete) Mills, Beverly (Robert) Mason and Rhonda (Max) Lower, all of Edon, Cheryl Baughman, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Lois (Steve) Gibson, of London, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation for William L. “Bill” Burlew will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Services will follow at 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will be in the Edon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers Hospital Hospice & Home Health Care.
