JoAnn Ohman, age 68, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:06 a.m. on Sunday, November 29, 2009, in her residence after an extended illness. A 1959 graduate of Bryan High School, she attended Northwest State Community College, where she obtained her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She worked in many capacities for Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, for thirty-seven years and loved doing it. Mrs. Ohman was very artistic and loved making pottery with her Sister’s Pottery friends, working with rubber stamps, painting gourds and creating many crafts. She loved all animals and enjoyed people. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, and its St. Anne Circle. Her memberships also included Northeast Indiana Iris Society and the Black Swamp Chapter of the Audubon Society. JoAnn Ohman was born on July 4, 1941, in Grand Haven, Michigan, the daughter of Cecil Newell and Ann (Vessel) Douglass. She married Lachlan Ohman on November 6, 1981, in Bryan, and he survives. Also surviving are one brother, David Douglass, of Bryan, and a cousin, Marilyn J. Meyer, of Shingle Springs, California. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses who cared for her throughout her illness, and especially to those who helped her through her last days at home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with a scripture service at 8:00 p.m. Services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bryan, with Father James Halleron officiating. Memorials in the name of JoAnn Ohman may be given to Hospital Hospice & Home Health, St. Patrick Catholic Church, Williams County Humane Society or the Black Swamp Chapter of the Audubon Society.
