Marvin M. Keppeler, age 89, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 3:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8, 2009, at his residence. A 1938 graduate of Edgerton High School, Marvin had farming in his blood and was a farmer in spirit until the day he died. He lived on the family farm his entire life with the exception of during World War II, where he served as an army medic. He was a member of John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion in Edgerton and the Williams County Pork Producers and attended the West Milford Church of Christ. He also served four terms as a St. Joseph Township Trustee. Marvin M. Keppeler was born on April 3, 1920, in Edgerton, Ohio, the son of Samuel and Blanche (Gipe) Keppeler. He married Margaret Hart on August 10, 1946, in Auburn, Indiana, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Linda (Jerry) Demorest and Sharon (Phil) Patterson, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and three sons, Garold (Jody) Keppeler, Gayle (Vicki) Keppeler, and Lee (Lana) Keppeler, all of Edgerton, Ohio, thirteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one brother, Harry Keppeler, of Wenatchee, Washington. Mr. Keppeler was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Paul, Roy and Carl. Services for Marvin M. Keppeler will be on Thursday, May 14, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. in the West Milford Church of Christ with Larry Weller, Minister and Fred Lab, Minister officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton, Ohio, with grave side military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the American Legion. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, and for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m., in the church. Memorials in the name of Marvin M. Keppeler may be given to Woodburn Christian Children’s Home of Woodburn, Indiana, or the Community Health Professionals (Visiting Nurses).
