Dale A. Edwards, 60 years, of rural Pioneer, died Saturday, April 8, 2006 in his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer. A veteran of the United States Army, He had been a lifelong mechanic and truck driver, retiring in 2003 due to his illness. Mr. Edwards had been a long time resident of Phoenix, Arizona and had formerly lived in Bryan, Ohio. He would often be found passing his time at the counter in Lester’s Diner, fishing at Oxbow Lake. He was a big fan of racing. On weekends, he would be seen attending the Pit Gate at Stateline Speedway in Edon, Ohio. Dale A. Edwards was born on November 17, 1945, in Toledo the son of C. Judy (Newman) and Arthur Edwards, Jr. Surviving are his children, John (Wendy) Edwards of Pioneer, James Edwards of Phoenix, Arizona, Todd (Bobbi) Edwards-Skiles of Tucson, Arizona and Melanie (Jay) Ritchie of Bisbee, Arizona; eleven grandchildren; sister, Melanie (Tom) Elter of Sebring, Florida and stepmother, Wilma Edwards of West Chester, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. There will be no services in keeping with his wishes. A gathering of remembrance will be held in his home at 15224 County Road O near Pioneer, on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 from 4:00-9:00 p.m. Arrangements were handled by Krill Funeral Service, Bryan, Ohio. Memorials in the name of Dale A. Edwards, may be given to his family.
