John L. “Larry” Pippin, age 70, of Edgerton and formerly a longtime resident of Edon, Ohio, died at 10:34 P.M. on Monday, January 4, 2010, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. Mr. Pippin was employed as a tool and die maker at Edgerton Forge, with twenty-seven years of service, and was a member of Bryan Eagles, Aerie #2233 and Bryan Am-Vets Post #54. John L. “Larry” Pippin was born on June 11, 1939, in Columbia, South Carolina, the son of Andrew and Willie Mae (Hall) Pippin. He married Nancy Ann Lesperance on April 24, 1965, in Georgia and she preceded him in death on January 16, 1999. He then married Maxine (Rohlf) Willitzer on January 1, 2000, in Defiance, Ohio, and she survives. Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Johnny Freeman, in Kentucky, Kathy Migues, of Tampa, Florida, Gerald (Connie) Elliott, of Napoleon, Ohio, Theresa Douglas, of Plant City, Florida, Chuck (Kay) Pippin, of Ocala, Florida, Joanne (Autumn) Pippin, of Rittman, Ohio, William (Christy) Pippin, of Pioneer, Ohio, Steve (Linda) Page, of Bryan, Ohio, and Simone (Mike) Oleson, of Odessa, Florida, his stepchildren, Richard Willitzer, Roy (Theresa) Willitzer, Robert (Lynette) Willitzer and Roxanne (Ben) Huner, all of Defiance, Ohio, Ruth (Tom) Draggoo, of Camden, Michigan, Roger (Tammy) Willitzer, of Harlan, Indiana, Sarah Willitzer, of Montpelier, Ohio, and William (Erika) Willitzer, of Cecil, Ohio, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Also surviving are three brothers, Mike (Mary) Pippin, of Williams Center, Ohio, Bobby (Sam) Pippin and Jerry Pippin, both in Florida, and two sisters, Sara (Reggie) Reed, of Titusville, Florida, and Pat Franklin, in Tennessee. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Page. Visitation for John L. “Larry” Pippin will be on Thursday, January 7, 2010, from 2:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Services will be on Friday, January 8, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Reverend Reggie Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the American Heart Association.
