Naomi Kay Zimmerman, age 64, of Edgerton, Ohio, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, shortly after admittance to Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville, Ohio, after being stricken by a sudden illness. Mrs. Zimmerman was a graduate of Southeast High School in Ravenna, Ohio, and attended Eastern Nazarene College from 1960-1962. She then attended Kent State University and graduated in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education specializing in home economics. She began her teaching career in Garrettsville, Ohio, and then taught in the North Central School system in Pioneer, Ohio, as a third grade teacher. She also taught at Pulaski, Washington and Lincoln elementary schools in the Bryan City School system. She was also a teachers aide and worked in the printing room for the Bryan City Schools until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed worshipping at the Victory Barn Church near Edgerton, Ohio where she was a longtime member. Naomi Kay Zimmerman was born in Ravenna, Ohio, on January 2, 1942, the daughter of James Delson and Emma (Mackey) Wilhelm and grew up on a small farm near Wayland, Ohio. She married Jerry R. Zimmerman on June, 30, 1968, in Ravenna, Ohio and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Zimmerman is survived by one son, Paul (Janet) Zimmerman, of Butler, Indiana, three grandchildren, Mike, Kristen and Katie Zimmerman, two brothers, Tom (Lynne) Wilhelm, of Appleton, Wisconsin, Tim Wilhelm, of Diamond, Ohio, and one sister, Tina (Gary) Lemley, of Ravenna, Ohio. She is also survived by three nieces, Tami Lemley, Tawni (Robert) Pophal, Kathy (Brian) Coughlin, and one nephew, Lee (Lee Hoa) Wilhelm. She was preceded in death by her parents, Delson and Emma Wilhelm. Services for Naomi Kay Zimmerman will be Friday, April 28, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., in the Victory Barn Church near Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Rosene Short officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 27. Memorials in the name of Naomi Kay Zimmerman may be given to the Gideons King James Version Holy Bible Program.
