Richard V. Streeter, age 86, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 4:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio, where he was a patient after a brief illness. Mr. Streeter was employed as a Rolling Mill operator with Bryan Metals and retired in 1987, with thirty-two years of service. He briefly served in the United States Navy and had attended the Melbern United Methodist Church. He was a former member of the Sons of AmVets Post #54. Richard V. Streeter was born on February 19, 1924 in Paulding County, Ohio the son of James and Murel (Stickney) Streeter. He married Irene Saco on July 19, 1952 in Columbia City, Indiana, and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Linda Whitney, of Edgerton, two granddaughters, Dawn Tocaciu and Alicia Shankster, three grandsons, Jason, Jarrod and Richard Streeter, two great-grandchildren, Brianna Kaydine Shankster and Brantley Roger Vincent Shankster, one brother, David Lee Streeter, and one sister, Diane Vallejo, both of Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was preceded in death by two sons, Doug and Edward Streeter, two grandsons, Edward Vincent Whitney and Michael Whitney, his parents, four sisters, three brothers and a son-in-law, Junior Whitney. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2010, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. Service will be held on Monday, December 20, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the Melbern United Methodist Church with Pastor Diane Schaffner officiating. Interment will follow in Brown Cemetery near Bryan. Memorials are requested to the Melbern United Methodist Church.
