Esther H. Bowers

Esther H. Bowers, age 61, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:20 P.M. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, in her home after an extended illness. Mrs. Bowers was employed by Stryker Metal Forge for many years and then as a housekeeper at the Williams County Courthouse until her retirement. She was a member of Bryan Missionary Alliance Church and loved family get-togethers, her grandchildren and church. Esther H. Bowers was born on September 7, 1948, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Leo and Susie (Avalos) Hernandez. She married Bernard D. Bowers on June 24, 1967, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Christine Bowers, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son, Dean (Denise) Bowers, of Defiance, Ohio, four grandchildren, Addilynn Bowers, James Bowers, Brock Bowers and Isaiah Bowers, one great-grandchild, Trae Bowers, two sisters, Molly Mekus, of Defiance, and Angelina (Dan) Ponasek, of Palm Beach, Florida, and one brother, Augustin (Nancy) Hernandez, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Yvette Winegardner. Visitation for Esther H. Bowers will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2010, from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. in the Bryan Missionary Alliance Church. Services will follow, beginning at 2:00 P.M. in the church. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Bryan Missionary Alliance Church.
