Rita G. Rettig

Rita G. Rettig, age 54, of Defiance, Ohio, died at 10:20 P.M. on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice near Defiance after an extended illness. Ms. Rettig was a graduate of Defiance High School and also of Defiance College. She was a substitute teacher in elementary education in many area schools throughout the years and was active in her church at the Family Christian Center in Defiance. Rita Gail Rettig was born on September 14, 1955, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of Elmer and Rose Lee (Thomas) Baldrige. Rita is survived by one son, Brandan Bakle, of Defiance, Ohio, five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, her parents, Rose Lee Parcher, of Defiance, and her father, Elmer Baldrige, of Ayresville. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Matt (Lisa Cameron) Baldrige, of Ney, Lola Helmke, of Defiance, Sheila Hamilton, of Lima, Mark (Kelly) Baldrige, of Napoleon, Mellisa Henry, of Sherwood, Glenn (DeAnna) Parcher, of Delta and Jason (Christina) Parcher, of Defiance. She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Bowers IV. A memorial service celebrating the life of Rita G. Rettig will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010, at 5:00 P.M. at the Family Christian Center in Defiance. Memorials in the name of Rita G. Rettig may be given to the Parkinson's Foundation.
