Carl Krill “Duffy” Unger, Sr., age 79, a longtime resident of Williams Center, Ohio, died at 6:20 A.M. on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Park View Nursing Center in Edgerton, Ohio, where he was a resident. Mr. Unger was a 1948 graduate of Edgerton High School and was employed by Bryan Truck Lines as a driver and dispatcher, retiring with twenty-nine years of service. He was a 50-year member of Bryan Masonic Lodge #215 and a 32nd Degree Mason, was a member of Bryan Eagles Aerie #2233, of which he was twice a Past Worthy President, was a retired teamster and was also a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, Bryan, Ohio. Carl was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan. Carl Krill Unger, Sr. was born on October 12, 1930, in Garrett, Indiana, the son of Dr. Walter S. and Minnie May (Krill) Unger. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy (Craig) Bok, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Carol (Bedford) Dubree, of Bryan, Ohio, one son, Carl (Laurie) Unger, Jr. of Melbern, Ohio, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a brother, Don Unger, of Coldwater, Michigan, his former wife, Bette Unger, of Bryan, two nieces, Mary Krill and Nadene Sease, three nephews, Douglas, Scott and Dennis Unger and many great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy M. Unger in 1978, his mother, Minnie Krill Unger, in 1990, his father, Dr. Walter S. Unger, in 1962, a brother, Paul Unger, a sister, Doris Bly, and nephew, Walter S. Unger II, and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Unger. Visitation for Carl Krill Unger, Sr. will be held on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan. Interment will be in Williams Center Cemetery. Memorials are requested to be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
