Vella R. Weber, age 87, of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 6:28 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the Laurels of DeKalb in Butler, Indiana, where she was a patient. Mrs. Weber lived on a farm south of Edgerton most of her life. She was a graduate of Fort Wayne Beauty College and was a hairdresser and cosmetologist for many years. She was a member of the Emanuel United Methodist Church. Vella R. Weber was born on April 13, 1918, in Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of Leroy and Leona (Roberts) Long. She married Herbert Weber on December 25, 1935, in Butler, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1968. Mrs. Weber is survived by four sons, Thomas (Judy) Weber, of Stryker, Ohio, Gerry (Louann) Weber, of Edgerton, Ohio, Larry (Valarie) Weber, of Akron, Ohio, and Michael (Rebecca) Weber, of Antioch, Illinois. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren and two sisters, Verna Wortkoetter, of Edgerton, Ohio, and Charlotte Voss, of Lakeview, Michigan. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Leola Nye and Muriel Winebar. A memorial service for Vella R. Weber will be conducted on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. in the Edgerton United Methodist, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Tim Gleason officiating. Interment will be private in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. There will be no visitation.
