Brian K. Beattie, age 52, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 13, 2010, in his residence following a three-year battle with cancer. Mr. Beattie served in the Army National Guard and was a self-employed construction worker and member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Montpelier, Ohio. His personal hobbies and passion included cars, motorcycles and fishing. Brian K. Beattie was born on April 9, 1958, in Angola, Indiana, the son of Maurice J. and Florence M. (DeLong) Beattie, and they preceded him in death. Surviving are his children, Regan (Quincy Pollock) Beattie, Nicole Karlstadt, Travis Beattie, all of Bryan, and Robert Olson, of Superior, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; his siblings, Gary Beattie, of Edon, Ohio, Martin Beattie, of Bushnell, Florida, Kathy Spicer, of Richmond, Kentucky, Cindy Dohner, of Bryan, Russell Beattie, of Montpelier, Ohio, Lloyd (Tina) Beattie, also of Bryan, Cherie (Johnny) Maag, of Ney, Ohio, and Candy Horn, in Florida; and his stepmother, Sharon Beattie, also of Bryan. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Greg Beattie, one sister, Robin Beattie, one sister-in-law, Marsha Beattie, and a nephew, Trevor Dohner. Visitation will be held from 1:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 17, 2010, in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held on Friday, June 18, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Eric Wetzel officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489. Memorial contributions in the name of Brian K. Beattie may be given to the family.
