Juanita D. Kaiser, age 95, of Edon, Ohio, died at 12:15 P.M. on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, at Hillside Country Living, near Bryan, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. Kaiser was a graduate of Defiance College and received her Master’s Degree in Education from St. Francis College, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She began her teaching career in a one-room schoolhouse at Kepler’s Corner near Edon and then taught elementary education for many years in the Edon Northwest School System and retired from the Hamilton, Indiana, school system. She was a dedicated educator who encouraged her family and students to succeed through education. She was also a member of the Edon United Methodist Church. Juanita D. Kaiser was born on March 12, 1915, in Florence Township, Williams County, Ohio, the daughter of Irvin D. and Ilelth (Imhoff) Cook. She married Donald C. Kaiser on June 21, 1936, in Edon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1997. She is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Burt) Blue, of Fayette, Ohio, and one son, Stan (Phyllis) Kaiser, of Newark, Ohio, five grandchildren, Dave (Christine) Blue, of Hicksville, Steve Blue, of Bryan, Tom (Terri) Blue, of Wauseon, Ohio, Kimberley (Brian) Sherman and Kristie (Matt) Schell, both of Newark, Ohio, eight great-grandchildren, Taylor, Logan and Stephanie Blue, Neil Curry, Jake and Peyton Sherman, and Ethan and Sullivan Schell, one great-great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Armstrong, and one sister, Rosemary Norrick, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010, at 2:00 P.M. in the Edon United Methodist Church. A reception celebrating the life of Juanita Kaiser will follow in the church basement. Memorials may be given to the Hillside Country Living Activity Fund or to the Edon United Methodist Church.
