John R. Walters

John Robert Walters, age 68, of Hicksville, Ohio, died at 3:18 P.M. on Sunday, June 6, 2010, shortly after admittance to Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. John attended school at Mark Center and graduated from Fairview High School in 1960. He retired from Ohio Art, Bryan, Ohio, as Director of Purchasing after 36 years of service and currently worked as a park employee for the Village of Hicksville. An avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians, he enjoyed spending time landscaping his home. John R. Walters was born on January 13, 1942, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of Claron and Mary (Diehl) Walters. He married Ruby Moog on June 23, 1963, in Bryan, Ohio, and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Kelly Walters, of Hicksville, and Jennifer (John) Robinson, of Fort Wayne, three grandchildren, Damon Walters, Aliccia Alvarado, and Griffin Robinson, two brothers, Paul (DeDe) Walters and Ed (Deb) Walters, both of Hicksville, and two sisters, Janice (Virgil) Hoene, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Sue (Ken) Young, of Paulding, Ohio. Preceding him in death were his parents. Visitation for John R. Walters will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, from 2:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton, Ohio. Services will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Kermit Riehle officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton. Memorials may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
