Caroline E. Maag

Caroline E. Maag, age 101, died at 8:25 P.M. on Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center in Bryan, Ohio, after a brief illness. A native of Ottoville, Ohio, Mrs. Maag worked at the Ottoville Creamery and then cleaned offices for many years at Ohio Art Company in Bryan. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Edgerton, Ohio. Caroline Elizabeth Maag was born on September 3, 1908, in Ottoville, Ohio, the daughter of Joseph J. and Elizabeth Caroline (Sanders) Klima. She married Clarence E. Maag on February 26, 1930, in Ottoville, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on February 26, 1978. She is survived by two sons, Leon (Darlene) Maag, of Bryan, and Franklin (Gale) Maag, of West Unity, Ohio, five daughters, Juliana Taylor, of Hamler, Ohio, Dorothy Bigger, of Bryan, Marie (Phil) Kunkle, of Huntington, Indiana, Diana Hicks, of Continental, Ohio, and Linda Morningstar, of West Unity, and 106 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, three sons, Clarence, Edward and Oscar Maag, one daughter, Carol Jean Cribbs, three grandchildren and one brother, Joseph Klima. Visitation for Caroline E. Maag will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010, from 1:00 to 3:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton. A scripture service will be held on Sunday at 8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Services will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary Catholic Church, Edgerton, with Reverend Stephen Schroeder officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ottoville, Ohio, at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, June 7, 2010. Memorials in the name of Caroline Elizabeth Maag may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or to St. Mary School.
