Lowell L. Stomm, age 84, of rural Angola, Indiana, died early on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was a patient. Mr. Stomm was a lifelong farmer and had been employed at Fremont Manufacturing, which became Simpson Industries, and then worked at Simpson Industries in Edon, Ohio, before retiring in 1985 with 12 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received the Silver and Bronze Stars. He was a member of the Columbia Church of Christ. Lowell L. Stomm was born on June 5, 1922, in Noble County, Indiana, the son of Voyd and Iva Fay (High) Stomm. He married Ruby I. Fee on June 27, 1943, in DeKalb County, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on June 9, 1998, after more than fifty years of marriage. Mr. Stomm is survived by one daughter, Linda (Larry) Thompson, of Yorktown, Indiana, two sons, Lavon (Cindy) Stomm and Charlie (Teresa) Stomm, both of Angola, Indiana, five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Donald Stomm, of Huntertown, Indiana, and one sister, Beverly Brunner, of Angola, Indiana. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Caldwell and Lois Prosser. Service for Lowell L. Stomm will be on Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Larry Weller, Minister, officiating. Interment will be in the Hamilton Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post #262. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edon from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. Memorials in the name of Lowell L. Stomm may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
