Dean P. Clark, age 81, formerly of Edon, Ohio, died on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at the Life Care Center in Charleston, South Carolina, where he was a resident. Mr. Clark was a switchman for the Norfolk and Western Railroad System, retiring with thirty years of service. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a member of the Edon American Legion Post #662. Dean P. Clark was born on August 10, 1925, in Holly, Michigan, the son of Frederick and Grace (Patterson) Clark. He married Charlett J. Hassett on September 29, 1946, in Edon, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on October 29, 2002. Mr. Clark is survived by two daughters, Brenda K. Brown, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Deanna F. (Steven) Gearhart, of Goose Creek, South Carolina, three grandchildren, Frederick Brown, Eric and Steven Gearhart, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Rosa Sutton and Gertrude Bommarito, and three brothers, Ben and Bob Clark, who both died in World War II, and Frederick Clark. Services for Dean P. Clark will be on Thursday, November, 2, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, with Pastor Glenn Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Edon American Legion Post #662. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1. Memorials in the name of Dean P. Clark may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice.
