View Video Tribute Nancy M. McKibben, age 57, of Edon, Ohio, died at 10:10 a.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2006, in her home after an illness of ten months. Mrs. McKibben had attended Bluffton College, where she studied music and then graduated summa cum laude from Northwest State Community College in 1991 with an associate degree in accounting. She was office manager at Garden Ridge Nursery in Defiance, Ohio, for fifteen years prior to her illness. She was also an active member of the Edon United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women, taught Sunday school in the preschool, first and second grade classes, and was the church camp coordinator for the last ten years. Nancy Marie McKibben was born on May 30, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Henry B. and Vera (Soldner) Grimm. She married Bruce W. McKibben on June 7, 1969, in Wisterman, Ohio, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. McKibben is survived by three sons, Brian (Cheryl) McKibben, of Montpelier, Ohio, Justin McKibben, of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Quentin McKibben, of Edon, Ohio, one daughter, Susan (Gregory) Hug, of Fayetteville, North, Carolina, one grandson, Braden Hug, her mother, Vera Grimm, of Bluffton, Ohio, two sisters, Donna Polhamus, of North Creek, Ohio, and Phyllis Solack, of Dublin, Ohio, and one brother, John Grimm, of Kirkpatrick, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father. Services for Nancy M. McKibben will be on Saturday, October 7, 2006, at 1:00 p.m. in the Edon United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric Dailey officiating. Interment will be private. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. on Friday, October 6. Memorials in the name of Nancy M. McKibben may be given to the Edon United Methodist Church or to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers - Hospice Care.
