View Video Tribute Ingrida E. “Inga” Leonard, 53 years, of rural Bryan, died at 11:42 p.m., Sunday September 24, 2006, at St. Vincent-Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio after a twelve year battle with cancer. A graduate of Whitmer High School in Toledo, Inga received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Toledo and her Masters in Education from Bowling Green State University. She was a sixth grade teacher for 30 years with the Bryan City Schools, retiring in 2005. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bryan, and actively involved with the Bell Choir at church. She was also active with the Relay for Life in Williams County and Camp Make a Dream in Missoula, Montana. She was actively involved with the Bryan Swim Team Association for many years. Ingrida E. “Inga” Leonard was born on July 13, 1953, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Ernest and Valija Sarkans, She married James E. Leonard on August 24, 1974 in Toledo, Ohio, and he survives. In addition to her husband, James, Inga is survived by two daughters, Kristin A. Leonard of Reno, Nevada and Susan E. Leonard of Bryan; one son, Jon P. Leonard of Sacramento, California; her mother, Valija Sarkans of Toledo, Ohio. Memorial services for Inga E. Leonard will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 506 Center Street, Bryan, with Pastor Richard Buchsteiner, officiating. Visitation for Mrs. Leonard will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, and from 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.. Memorials in the name of Inga Leonard may be given to Cancer Assistance of Williams County.
