View Video Tribute William F. “Frank” Sims, 80 years, of Ney, Ohio, died at 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, Ohio. A Navy veteran of World War II, Frank was a lab technician for The Aro Corporation in Bryan for over thirty years. He was a member of the Ney Church of God and served the village of Ney as a village councilman. He was also a member of the Ney American Legion and the Fairview Athletic Boosters. He coached youth baseball in Ney for many years. William F. “Frank” Sims was born on June 26, 1925, in Delphos, Ohio, the son of Frank and Stella (Jenkins) Sims. He married Alice J. Garver in March 1949 in Ney, and she survives. In addition to his wife, Mr. Sims is survived by three sons, Maury (Deb) Sims, Steve (Sherry) Sims and Dennis Sims, all of Ney; eight grandchildren, Joy (Daren) Smith, of Ney, Hope (Corey) Kiessling, of Ney, Amber Sims, of Frederick, Maryland, Heather Sims, of Bryan, Eric Sims, of Ney, Brett, Kelsey and Brittany Sims, all of Ney; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Tom Sims, of Edgerton; three sisters, Fran Nicely, of Fowler, Indiana, Mayry Vaught, of Bryan, and Madeline Berenyi, of Sherwood. He was preceded in death by his brother, Marion Sims, and four sisters, Alice Cornell, Faye Pretorius, Dorothy Garver and Ann Geiger. Funeral services for William F. “Frank” Sims will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2006, in the Ney Church of God, 3413 State Route 15, Ney, Ohio, with Pastor Doug Nolt officiating. Interment will follow in Ney Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2006, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio, and also one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church. Memorials in the name of William F. “Frank” Sims may be given to the Fairview Baseball Association.
