Rene Castillo, Jr., age 61, of Bryan, Ohio, died on Tuesday, December 22, 2009, in his home after a long illness. Mr. Castillo was a graduate of Bryan High School and was a veteran of the United Sates Air Force, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was employed by Fleetwood Industries in Edgerton and was an avid construction worker. He was a member of the Bryan Am-Vets Post #54 and Bryan Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2489 and taught English as a Second Language (ESL). Rene Castillo, Jr. was born on May 9, 1948, in Salineno, Texas, the son of Rene and Aurora (Ramos) Castillo, Sr. He is survived by a daughter, Jeanine (Charles, Jr.) Patton, of Derby, Kansas, his wife, Martha Elva Castillo, and a son, Jesus Castillo, both in Mexico, and four sisters, Edith Martha Kline, Lilia (James) Lucas, Aide (Jamie Ely) Castillo and Nola (Ray Suydam) Johnson, all of Bryan. Also surviving are three grandchildren and his nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant sisters, Viola and Minika Castillo. Private services for Rene Castillo, Jr. will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, with Pastor Dave Peña officiating, followed by military rites conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2489.
