Allyson Michele Word

Allyson Michele Word, age 21, of Edon, Ohio, died at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 9, 2010, where she was a patient. Allyson was a 2008 graduate of Edon High School, where she played softball and was a member of the volleyball team that went to the regionals three times. She had worked at Fountain Park Inn and Villas in Bryan, Ohio, and currently was attending Brown-Mackie College, studying nursing. Allyson Michele Word was born on September 7, 1989, in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of Michael Lee and Shelly Lee (Thiel) Word. Surviving are her parents, Shelly (Joe) Headley and Michael (Tammy Mathers) Word, both of Edon, a brother, Taylor Headley, a sister, Andrea Headley, her grandparents, Wayne and Char Word, Ron and Gaylan Thiel, and Christena Headley, also all of Edon. She is also survived by her great-grandmother, Thelma Word, of Camden, Michigan. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010, from 2:00-8:00 P.M., in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at 10:30 A.M., in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Blakeslee, Ohio, with interment to follow. Memorials are requested to the Edon Athletic Department volleyball program.
