Edith M. Asher, age 99, of Edgerton, Ohio, and a longtime resident of Bowling Green, Ohio, died at 11:56 A.M. on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at her home near Edgerton after a brief illness. Mrs. Asher was employed by Bowling Green State University in the food service department and retired with thirty years of service. She was family oriented and loved her flowers and gardening. Edith M. Asher was born on November 8, 1911, in Hoskinston, Kentucky, the daughter of Beverly “Bev” and Ellen (Smith) Morgan. She married Richard W. Asher on April 13, 1934, Hoskinston, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1959. Surviving are one son, A. Gene (Marilyn) Asher, of Edgerton, seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Shirley Asher, of Defiance, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one son, D. Matt Asher, nine brothers and two sisters. Visitation for Mrs. Asher will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio. Grave side services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in Union Hill Cemetery near Bowling Green with Pastor Donna Stutzman officiating. Memorials are requested to Community Health Professionals Hospice Care.
