Sarahetta Dunson, age 98, of Edgerton, Ohio, died on Sunday, November 14, 2010, at her home after a brief illness. Mrs. Dunson was a graduate of International Business College and was employed by S. E. Johnson Company, then was secretary to the superintendent at West Unity Schools for eleven years and then became secretary to the principal at Clay High School for thirteen years until her retirement when she and her husband moved to Hicksville, Ohio. She was a member of the Edgerton United Methodist Church and the Priscilla Club and while in Hicksville was active in Grace United Methodist Church and with the Meals-on-Wheels program. She was also a sixty-five year member of Bryan Chapter #248, Order of the Eastern Star. Sarahetta Dunson was born on November 9, 1912, near Newville, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Julia (Armstrong) Banks. She married Wray B. Dunson on December 29, 1934, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on January 11, 2008. Surviving are two daughters, Karen Pettit and Janet Dunson, both of Edgerton, and six grandchildren, Robbin (Kelly) Pettit, of Edgerton, Sean Pettit, of Bryan, Ohio, Gidget Pettit, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Julia (Richard) Thurston, also of Edgerton, Stephany Suydam, of Montpelier, Ohio, and Melinda Sadoski, of Elmore, Ohio, ten great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Marlin Pettit, and two brothers. Services for Sarahetta Dunson will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at 1:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Pastor Tom Ketzler officiating. Interment will follow in Six Corners Cemetery in Hicksville. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Tuesday, November 16, 2010, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 12:00 P.M. Memorials in the name of Sarahetta Dunson may be given to the Edgerton Free Store or to the Williams County Humane Society.
