Eldean W. Yarger, 89, former longtime resident of Edgerton, Ohio, died at 10:45 P.M. on Sunday, November 14, 2010, in DeKalb Memorial Hospital, where he was a patient. Mr. Yarger was employed as a machinist by The Aro Corporation in Bryan, Ohio, retiring with thirty-one years of service. He also drove school bus for eighteen years for the Edgerton Local School System. He was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and held memberships with Bryan VFW #2489, John D. Smith Post #10 of the Edgerton American Legion, of which he was a past Commander, and the Bryan Am-Vets Post #54. He was also a member of the West Milford Church of Christ and played Santa Claus in the Edgerton area for fifty-seven years. Eldean W. Yarger was born on March 3, 1921, in Paulding County, Ohio, the son of William and Eliza C. (Otis) Yarger. He married Betty J. Walden on January 26, 1943, in Hicksville, Ohio, and she preceded him in death in 2007. Mr. Yarger is survived by three daughters, Carol Ann (Ford) Hudson, of Butler, Indiana, Linda Lou (Fred) Storar, of Blackshear, Georgia, and Mary Jo (Tom) Stemen, of Butler, Indiana, two sons, Gary (Mary) Yarger, of Huntertown, Indiana, and Carl (Cheryl) Yarger, also of Butler, fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandsons, six great-granddaughters and one great-great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, one brother, Allen, and a sister, Maxine Skeels. Services for Eldean W. Yarger will be on Thursday, November 18, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the West Milford Church of Christ, near Hicksville, Ohio, with Pastor Fred Lab officiating. Interment will follow in Six Corners Cemetery near Hicksville, with grave side military rites conducted by John D. Smith Post #10 of the Edgerton American Legion. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Edgerton from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials in the name of Eldean W. Yarger may be given to the West Milford Church of Christ or to the Woodburn Christian Children's Home.
