Carl L. Setzler, age 90, of Bryan, Ohio, and formerly a longtime resident of Seneca County, Ohio, died at 7:40 P.M. on Monday, November 15, 2010, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, where he was a patient following a brief illness. Mr. Setzler was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He retired in 1983 as maintenance foreman with the Tiffin Public Schools after sixteen years of service. He also worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a farmer most of his life. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan. Carl L. Setzler was born on December 19, 1919, in Seneca County, Ohio, the son of George E. and Estella (Kreh) Setzler. He married Ruth Anna Girton on March 30, 1941, in Bellevue, Ohio, and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2004. Mr. Setzler is survived by two daughters, Martha (Bill) Lambert, of Bryan, and Judy (Ronald) Phillips of Lafayette, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Bruce (Kay) Bleikamp and Brian Bleikamp, both of Alvordton, Ohio, Brad (Connie) Bleikamp, of Edgerton, Ohio, William (Karla) Lambert, Jr., of Bryan, and Kimberly (Jason) Herman, also of Edgerton, Deborah (Jeremy) Pullen and Jennifer (Tom) Barbour, both of Lafayette, and Barbara (Martin) Ambrosio, of North Ridgeville, Ohio; fifteen great-grandchildren, four stepgreat-grandchildren, and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death in addition to his wife were one brother, Howard Setzler, two sisters, Mabel and Dorothy, and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2010, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 19, 2010, in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Webb officiating. Interment will follow at Shiffler Cemetery, near Bryan, with grave side military rites conducted by Bryan VFW #2489. Memorials are requested to Trinity Lutheran Church, Bryan.
