Robert P. Sanders, age 79, of Ney, Ohio, died early Tuesday, September 28, 2010, in his home after an extended period of failing health. Mr. Sanders was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1951 -1953. He was employed by Hayes Albion-50 Division as a General Foreman, then as Plant Superintendent and retired as a Manufacturing Engineer with thirty-three years of service. In retirement he was an avid fisherman and golfer and enjoyed farming on the family farm. Robert P. Sanders was born on April 10, 1931, in Sherwood, Ohio, the son of Oscar and Mildred (Goodenough) Sanders. He married Nancy Mack on March 18, 1951, in Ney, Ohio and she preceded him in death on May 15, 1991. He is survived by one son, Scott Sanders, of Defiance, Ohio, one daughter, Cindy Hall, of Ney, two grandchildren, Wes (Kristen) Hall, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Colby Hall, of Ney, and one great-granddaughter, Chelsea Hall. Also surviving are two brothers, Don (Frieda) Sanders, of Defiance, and Gerald (Judy) Sanders, in Florida, two sisters, Wanda Highland, in Florida, and Brenda Ulum, of Chicago, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Sanders and his mother and stepfather Mildred and Ray Swires. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. Services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, with Reverend Greg Wack officiating. Interment will follow in the Ney Cemetery with grave side military rites conducted by Ney American Legion Post #680. Memorials may be given to a hospice of the donor’s choice.
