Weldon W. Starr

Weldon W. Starr, age 92, formerly of Edon, Ohio, died on Friday, July 14, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan after a brief illness. Mr. Starr was a service mechanic for several auto dealerships in the area until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Bethlehem Christian Union Church. Weldon W. Starr was born on December 2, 1913, in Ainger, Ohio, the son of Pierson F. and Murrel Z. (Brubaker) Starr. He married Helen E. Darr on October 24, 1936, in Auburn, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2005. Mr. Starr is survived by three sons, Wayne A. (Kay) Starr, of Holland, Ohio, Robert D. (Carol) Starr, of Pemberville, Ohio, and Jon E. (Danica) Starr, of Columbus, Ohio, six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Harold (Marcille) Starr, of Montpelier, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lyle Starr. Funeral services for Weldon W. Starr will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bethlehem Christian Union Church near Edon, Ohio, with his grandson, Reverend Kevin Starr officiating. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon, Ohio, from 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 18. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier, Ohio. The family requests that memorials in the name of Weldon W. Starr be directed to the Bethlehem Christian Union Church, 04016 County Road M-50, Edon, Ohio 43518, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
