William Earl “Bill” Middleton, Sr., age 81, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on Friday, May 21, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness. Born on February 19, 1929, in Dawson, Missouri, the son of Sanford and Gladys Middleton, he married Emma Sobieck on September 25, 1976, and she survives. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army, having served his country from 1948 through 1950. He retired from General Motors on December 23, 1980, after having worked there for thirty years as a maintenance mechanic. He was a member of the U.A.W. of America and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2233, Bryan, Ohio. Surviving Bill are seven children, William “Bill, Jr.” Middleton, of Anchorage, Alaska, Terry Bruce (Judy) Middleton, of Virginia, Jeffrey Brent (Sandy) Middleton, of Toledo, Ohio, Debra (Wesley) Shrider, of Mt. Blanchard, Ohio, Amie (Gary) Burr, of Bryan, Ohio, Leonard (Cindy) Coleman, of Shelbiana, Kentucky, and Shane (Amber) Middleton, of Bryan, Ohio, one brother, Wilbur “Bob” (Carolyn) Middleton, twenty-three grandchildren, five great-greatgranchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Patricia Ann (Spurlock) Helms, one grandson, Madison Wade Coleman, and twelve siblings. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan, Ohio. Private interment will be held at a later date. Memorials in loving memory of Bill Middleton may be given to Hospice of Williams & Fulton Counties or the U.A.W. of America.
