Tommy A. Sims, age 76, of Edgerton and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died at 11:18 a.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan, where he had been a patient. Mr. Sims was employed by The Aro Corporation as a forklift operator, retiring in 1994 with forty-three years of service. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Tommy A. Sims was born on December 30, 1929, in Paulding County, the son of Frank S. and Stella (Jenkins) Sims. He is survived by two sons, Tom (Kathy) Sims, of Edgerton, Ohio and George Sims, of Montpelier, Ohio, one daughter, Charity Sims, of Montpelier, Ohio, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Fran Nicely, of Fowler, Indiana, Mayry Vaught, of Bryan, Ohio and Madeline Berenyi, of Sherwood, Ohio. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Candice Sue Sims, one son, Mark Sims, one grandson, Eric Leggett, two brothers, Marion and William F. “Frank” Sims, and four sisters, Alice Cornell, Faye Pretorius, Dorothy Garver and Ann Geiger. Services for Tommy A. Sims will be held on Monday, November 20, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, Ohio, with Pastor Byron Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 19, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Krill Funeral Home. Memorials in the name of Tommy A. Sims may be given to the Park View Nursing Center Activity Fund.
