Sally J. Rast, age 54, of Portsmouth, Virginia, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died at 4:05 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2007. She was employed as an accountant/bookkeeper and as a seamstress, as well as working a successful Tupperware business. Sally J. Rast was born on June 23, 1953, the daughter of J. O. and Mildred (Etchen) Porath. She married David Rast on July 2, 1989, in Portsmouth, Virginia, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Rast is survived by one daughter, Stacey Coleman, and one son, Dustin Coleman, both of Portsmouth, Virginia, and two grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother and stepfather, Mildred and Paul Daugherty, of Farmer, Ohio, one brother, Ed (Marcia) Porath, of Sherwood, Ohio, two sisters, Linda (Dean) Caryer, of Sherwood, and Sheri (John) McCoy, of Defiance, Ohio, one stepbrother, Stanton Daugherty, of Armonk, New York, and one stepsister, Sherri Green, of Bryan, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her father and one stepsister, Cindy Clifton. A memorial service celebrating the life of Sally J. Rast will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 30, at the First Baptist Church, Bryan, Ohio, with Pastor John McFarlane officiating. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials in the name of Sally J.
