Evelyn Nadene Unger

Evelyn Nadene Unger, age 78, of Coldwater, Michigan, and formerly of Bryan, Ohio, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at Branch County Hospital in Coldwater, Michigan, where she was a patient after a six-year battle with cancer. Mrs. Unger was the former co-owner of the Suburban Motel and worked at Carroll-Ames hardware for many years before retiring from Hickory Farms in Toledo, Ohio. She was a member of the Coldwater United Methodist Church in Coldwater, Michigan. She was a life-long resident of Ohio until her retirement when she and her husband moved to Coldwater Lake and wintered in LaFeria, Texas. Evelyn Nadene Unger was born on July 30, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Lester and Orpha (Rittenhour) Carroll. She married Don W. Unger on June 14, 1952, in Bryan, Ohio, and he survives. In adition to her husband, Mrs. Unger is survived by one daughter, Nadene Unger-Sease, of Jacksonville, Florida, three sons, Doug (Sonya) Unger, of Wauseon, Ohio, Scott (Linda) Unger, of Bryan, Ohio, and Dennis Unger, of Cumberland, Maine, her grandchildren, Alex (Lori) Sease, Andy Sease, and Deana Sease, all of Jacksonville, Florida, Jacob Unger and Ana Unger, of Wauseon, Ohio, Jason Unger, of Toledo, Ohio, and Ryan Unger, of Bryan, Ohio, one sister, Dorothy (Carroll) Strayer, of Wauseon, Ohio, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Denver Carroll, a sister, Betty (Carroll) Dangler-Stokes, and an infant granddaughter, Angela Unger. Services for Evelyn Nadene Unger will be on Wednesday, August 22, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio, with Bill Priest officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery. Visitation will be in the Krill Funeral Home in Bryan from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 21.
